The World Golf Hall of Fame Putting Championship qualifying concluded this past weekend.  Eight spots were secured the first weekend of qualifying (David Bailey (34), Gabriel Bell (35), Alex Dienes, Ray Rowland, Kevin Reilly (36) and the final two spot were determined in a nine hole play-in, won by Kevin Klose and James Eschen).  The second weekend heated up with 150 people playing the final two days to try and secure one of the remaining eight spots in the finals.  Whitney Allemand and Lenny Schonfeld led the way with a pair of 35’s, Lynn Hope, Kevin Kirkland, Lance Miller, John Urban and Paul Watson punched their tickets to the finals with 36’s.  The final remaining spot still has some drama left as seven people shot a 37 and will compete in a play-in held on Saturday morning, May 2 at 9:00 am.  Robert Burns, Eric Carpenter, Tom Cromwell, Wesley Davis, Jeff Heinemann, John Neyhart, Steve Printy and Gary Walsh will compete in a 9-hole stroke play event to determine the final spot.  The play-in will be held on holes 10-18 and ties after the nine holes will go to sudden death until one is individual remains.  Individuals already in the finals will have the opportunity to practice on the front nine while the final spot is being determined.       

All finalists receive a Hall of Fame Golf Shirt, Hall of Fame Membership, and one dozen golf balls courtesy of Wilson Golf!  Finalists will compete for a chance to win over $10,000 in prizes including: Free Golf at World Golf Village Courses, passes to the 2009 PLAYERS Championship, Golf rounds from Last Minute Golfer, lessons at the PGA TOUR Golf Academy, Golf at TPC Valley Course, Palencia, Hampton Golf Courses and much more!  Top eight finishers will receive prizes.

Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament | Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24
Look forward to “A Good Time for a Great Cause” when the ninth-annual charity golf tournament returns with all the Murray brothers and their celebrity friends to benefit The Guardian Catholic Schools.  The event will kick off Thursday, April 23 with a pairings party and silent auction at Murray Bros. Caddyshack Restaurant at World Golf Village and continue Friday, April 24 with the charity golf tournament, an awards ceremony and post party.  The tournament will consist of morning and afternoon flights on both of World Golf Village’s championship golf courses, Slammer & Squire and King & Bear. 2008 Inductee Exhibits
Now open in the museum's Shell Hall are the 2008 Inductee Exhibits.  Featuring the 2008 Class of Sir Bob Charles, Pete Dye, Carol Semple Thompson, Denny Shute, Herbert Warren Wind and Craig Wood, the exhibits feature their inspirational stories accompanied by personal and professional memorabilia, awards and treasures they have accumulated over the years.

"Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory"
The World Golf Hall of Fame is featuring one of golf’s greatest ambassadors in a special exhibition, “Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory,” which tells the story of his life, entertainment career, relationship with U.S. Presidents, and his devotion to the men and women of the military, as well as his lifelong love affair with golf. The exhibit features more than 300 vintage images, 400 artifacts, more than two hours of video, and a unique audio tour that includes comments from Dolores, Linda and  Bob Hope as well as clips from his radio broadcasts and tributes from celebrities and Hall of Fame members.
“Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory” is the Hall of Fame’s showcase member exhibition throughout 2009 and offers the largest collection of Bob Hope memorabilia ever available on public display.
