"In Their Own Words"
Stories from Solheim Captains and Participants

Pat Bradley, captain
One of the gifts I gave each player was a traditional Irish ring called a Claddagh Ring. The Claddagh Ring features two hands clasping a heart and is surmounted by a crown – all symbols of friendship, love and loyalty.

Annika Sorestam, participant
The weather at Loch Lomond was so bad that we’d have to wait until it cleared and try to finish out as many holes as possible. But the finish was amazing. It came down the last hole on the last day. It was so great to be a part of that winning team.

Louise Suggs, participant (raised the U.S. Flag during the Opening Ceremonies)
I usually don’t cry openly, but raising the American flag and being involved in The Solheim Cup in that way greatly affected me. I deeply love my country and was so honored - I could not stop the tears from streaming down my face."
